TRY THE CEVENOL ASPHALT AND DISCOVER GREAT LANDSCAPES!
It was in 1987 that the Tour de France made its first passage on the heights of Mont Aigoual. Culminating at 1567 m above sea level, this mountain overlooks a valley of the Cévennes region which is full of wealth. It is in the small town of Alzon that the characteristics of the Cévennes are found! It is considered a stopover city, in fact the city knows how to meet the expectations of accommodation and information on bicycle or hiking routes. At the heart of its small typical streets and these old facades, Cozy Nature welcomes you in a unique place. In an environment preserved from massive urbanization, Muriel welcomes you in a small chalet or a tiny house to decorate with care.
Cycling enthusiasts, the region invites you to follow in the footsteps of Jean-René Bernaudau or Guy Gallopin in a stage of the tour which dates from July 17, 1987.Several climbs ranging from slopes of 2% (going to Mas Fadat or La Peyre) to 10% (the Cape of Coast), offers you a moment of history on legendary routes. It was in summer 2020 that the Tour de France was to rest its colors on the slopes of our mountains, following the events that the country knows, it will not take place… It is not a question here of only making climbs for the more experienced, but to make you discover the resources of a naturally exceptional region.
We are fortunate to have a region that has done everything to offer a quality of road that meets the expectations of road bike enthusiasts. Indeed we are the second region of France which has the most tarred passes. With various routes and circuits, all road bikers can come and walk the asphalt: from amateurs to professionals. Thus allowing to discover or rediscover the joys of this sport practice called nature.
